In 2015 Kangaroos and Kwills came together to talk about a Made in Germany collaboration. Fast forward 2 years, hundreds of e-mails and several samples the final shoe is about to hit the market on October 28, 2017.

The Flying Dutchman takes its inspiration from travelling with airlines and more specifically the Royal Dutch Airlines. The name “The flying Dutchman” was first used in 1926 and refers next to the infamous ghostship to Albert Plesman, the founder of the company. You can still find it on today’s airplanes. And importantly since 1979 the Royal Dutch Airlines introduced their famously blue colour.

The shoe is a combination of two different shoes, the Coil-R2 for the upper and the Runaway 2 ROOS for the midsole which makes a new yet familiar silhouette. Materials include thick perforated royal blue suede, tumbled white leather, smooth leather and pigskin lining on top of an EVA-midsole. The colours are inspired by the Boeing 737-800 of the Royal Dutch Airlines. The stitched mini Roos on the toebox refers to red fuel marking on the airplane’s nose and coincidentally pays homage to one of Japan’s sneakerstore collaborators. On the insole and on the tonguetag there is a custom debossed graphic.

The shoes come in a custom graphic box together with a hangtag, extra set of blue laces, limited edition A4-print, an official Heimplanet x Kwills kitbag and a mixtape by RawEndz .

All sales are final.
